![]() Dr. Paul Dean is a native of Northeast Oklahoma, having grown up in Claremore, Oklahoma. He received his undergraduate degree and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 1984. Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Dean pursued advanced training with a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron, Ohio, and a three-year small animal surgical residency at the University of Missouri. From
1988 to 1990, Dr. Dean was an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery
at Louisiana State University, where he performed surgery, taught veterinary
medical students, and performed research on a variety of surgical conditions.
Dr. Dean became a board-certified surgeon in 1989, being certified as
a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons by passing their
examinations and demonstrating competency in small animal veterinary surgery.
Dr. Dean has published numerous articles in veterinary journals and has
developed new techniques in veterinary surgery. He has also contributed
several chapters in veterinary surgical textbooks.
