SIGNALMENT:

Adult Labrador Retriever, male

HISTORY:

The dog was found as a stray and placed in a confined yard.  The dog escaped confinement and sustained a comminuted fracture of the proximal femur.

DIAGNOSTICS:

Pre-operative films show the fracture of the proximal femur. (Figures 1 and 2)

SURGERY: 

Fixation was achieved usind a combination of a bone screw, pins and wires, and a tension band apparatus. (Figure 3 and 4)
