| SIGNALMENT:
10 month old male Labrador mix
HISTORY:
The owner had noticed progressive reluctance to run and play, and to
climb stairs. An abnormal hindlimb gait was described along with
occasional episodes of apparent pain.
DIAGNOSTICS:
Radiographs submitted by the referring veterinarian showed severe hip
dysplasia. The right hip was completely subluxated with no contact
between the femoral head and acetabulum. The left hip shows severe
subluxation as well. (Figure 1)
SURGERY:
Triple pelvic osteotomy (TPO) was performed on the left hip only, using
a 40º left TPO plate (Slocum enterprises). (Figures 2 and
3)
